Double Trouble at MVAAFF McKelvy to Appear in Two Films at 2009 Festival
[New York, New York] August 6, 2009 - Tanika McKelvy will appear in two films that will screen at the Seventh Annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival in New Haven, MA. The lineup for MVAAFF has been announced officially. The fest is slated to take place from August 5 through August 8, 2009.Ms. McKelvy has a lead role in two films, both scheduled to screen on Friday, August 7, 2009. Beauty for Ashes, a short film, in which she plays the antagonist, Albertine, will have its premiere Friday August 7 at 2 pm. The Good Neighbor Policy, a dark comedy feature film, will have its East Coast Premiere on Friday as well at 8 p.m. Ms. McKelvy portrays the nosey, maternal single mom and neighbor Stephanie.Ms. McKelvy will be on hand at the festival and will participate in the Q&A with the cast following the screenings. She has appeared in recent years in the guest cast of television shows, George Lopez, House MD, and Las Vegas.The Good Neighbor Policy had its West Coast at the Hollywood Black Film Festival in June 2009. Ms. McKelvy also served as one the producers on the film.
